User Reviews about The Arctic Incident (Artemis Fowl - Book 2)
Many readers in our house enjoy this series of books. If you like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, you probably will like this. -- Good Series
Artemis Fowl is back--and better than ever with a sharp graphic look that heightens the excitement and adventure. The meticulous details capture not only Artemis Fowl's style, but also bring the characters a new life, which will impress Fowl fans old and new. The story starts at Artemis' boarding school, where he receives an important call from Butler. The fairy land is yet again in danger. Goblins found with human devices were lurking in Captain Holly Short's guard post. With Julius by her side, she `kidnaps' Artemis in order to accuse him of dealing with the goblins...as well as settling old spats. But things do not necessarily turn out as they would seem to. Welded together by an adventure, they realize that first looks are not always true looks.
Although the graphics may not be the same as portrayed by the reader, and the meager size of the book not look as nearly appetizing as the thick volumes of the written novel, don't let that slow down your hunger. The new looks of the characters will find a way to fit in to the world of Artemis Fowl; whether it be Foaly's blueberry-like pallor or Artemis' eye color. All in all, this is a wonderful book and a good kickoff for a transitional reader.

Artemis Fowl 2 was a book I never got bored of. Every part in the book was so interesting, i found myself reading this book in a couple of hours. This book was much better than the first plot-wise. The plot was more gripping. The villains were ok, but not better than the first. I love a series when the sequel to book 1 is a hit. Great book. I suggest a must read for all. -- A Masterful Sequel
Book given as Christmas gift. Grandson enjoyed the read and is asking for the next book in series. -- Great read
Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident Graphic Novel has the same storyline as the book. The art is good and characters are easy to see against the backgrounds. There is a lot of action in this book, and so the graphic novel makes it easier to see the actions as they happen.
For those who never heard of Artemis Fowl, you've been missing out. Look up the books for a more detailed review. The first book in the series is titled simply Artemis Fowl. The publishers just reprinted the books with new covers, so they should be easy to find. It's a great series. -- The Book with Pictures
