User Reviews about Karate Is for Me (Sports for Me Books.)
With all the senseless violence in publications, it is a pleasure to find the wonderfully wholesome book Karate Is For Me by Fred Neff. After reading this book, it is obvious that this author understands children's needs and parents' concerns. He has written a beautiful story about a little girl, Becky, and her personal journey through the Asian art of karate. The book provides pictures that enhance the narrative in telling the story. I like the way the character in the book, Becky, interacts with the other people in the story and their very positive attitudes and experiences in karate and with one another. This book elevates karate to a very high level activity that is both wholesome and educational. My sister's children enjoyed the book so much that she ended up getting another copy to give to my daughter, who adored it. After reading the book, my daughter's interest in karate blossomed, so my husband and I bought her a copy of Fred Neff's Basic Karate Handbook. She now has several other books by Fred Neff and is enrolled in a karate school, where she finds enjoyment and satisfaction. As an adult with strong values, I greatly appreciate the book Karate Is For Me. It gets my highest recommendation. -- Wholesome and Educational Book on Karate
